Intro

Marvel Rivals is a team action game in the spirit of Overwatch but it is third person with more characters focusing on melee. The game also features environmental destruction but other than that, the two are highly similar. However, one more thing they differ in is the amount of heroes available at launch.

Back in 2018, Overwatch had 21 heroes at launch, with Marvel Rivals looking to blow it out of the water with 33 launch heroes. Marvel Rivals is scheduled to kick off on December 6, 2024.

5 heroes revealed in launch trailer

Marvel Rivals revealed numerous heroes at high cadence but then inexplicably stopped in the week before launch. The reason was that the final 5 heroes would all be featured in the launch trailer and those include Black Widow, Cloak & Dagger, Iron Fist, Squirrel Girl and Wolverine.

At the time of writing, only Squirrel Girl had a profile page on the official website, although we can expect all of them to be shown in trailers before launch.
