This nonsensical marriage undoubtedly came from tone deaf suits at Konami who saw data about what certain demographics liked and didn’t bother to get context but at least eFootball players can get some cards without buying loot boxes.

This event will last until October 23, 2025, and during that time the players will be able to obtain Neymar as well as 5 French internationals with silly crossover cards featuring Yu-Gi-Oh creatures in the background.

Logging in will cause a Neymar cosplaying as Dark Magician to pop up in the player’s inventory while the French players will require completion of certain challenges. There is no cosplay involved here, it is simply the following player cards with Yu-Gi-Oh creatures in the background:

Minor change in player count

Despite the ridiculousness of the collab, the biggest surprise was that it actually caused a minor spike in player activity. Then again, based on trends shown on SteamDB, it’s probably just people logging in to grab their rewards after which the player count drops back down to Neymar’s energy levels.
