Intro

IO Interactive has ceased collaboration with Conor McGregor following the conclusion of a rape case in Dublin, Ireland, where the court ordered the former MMA fighter to pay damages to Nikita Hand.

As a result, The Disruptor elusive target will see a lot less light as IOI began removing all the content featuring McGregor in Hitman.

“In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today.” ~ Hitman Twitter

The Disruptor is gone, or will be

As of the time of writing, the Hitman Steam page was still selling The Disruptor DLC although the game’s official Twitter account seems to have scrapped mentions of this particular elusive target popping up.

Nothing of value is likely to be lost since IOI noted they will only remove the content from their storefronts, not the players’ accounts if they purchased it previously.

On top of that, the DLC was not received positively due to IOI’s shenanigans, including the time gate of 12 hours per assassination attempt. That means if the player failed the mission at any point, they wouldn’t be able to retry it for another 12 hours.

Rape case background

Nikita Hand has been fighting the legal battle with McGregor for years now and the alleged offense happened in 2018. Initially, the charges were dropped by the prosecutors but the High Court instigated a pre-trial discovery in 2022. The trial itself started on November 5, 2024, and concluded a little more than two weeks later on November 22.

Masked men invaded Hand’s home in June 2024, damaged her property and stabbed her partner but the court decided this information should be withheld from the jury during trial.
