Intro

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released on June 21, 2024. It arrived fully loaded with an entire new map, 70 new weapons, 25 new Ashes of War, 30 Armor Sets, consumables, craftables, and much more.

The DLC arrived with much fanfare to gamers all over the world, and did not miss the Game Whisper cottage where its review is brewing as we speak!

Shadow of the Erdtree sells 5 million units

Today, it has been announced that Bandai Namco and FromSoftware’s latest foray into the world dreamed up by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin has moved a whopping 5 million copies worldwide.

The 5 million copies milestone has been reached within three days of the Shadow falling on the proverbial shelves of Steam, PlayStation, and Microsoft stores.

Folks at Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have also taken the opportunity to thank the fans from all around the world for their support.

Difficulty controversy

Shadow of the Erdtree was developed by FromSoftware so it was bound to kick up some dirt when it comes to the difficulty aspect.

The “game journalists are bad at playing video games” discourse has, once again, sprung up over some less-than-favorable reviews before June 21, 2024, but the release of Shadow of the Erdtree saw players concede to the fact that there are some challenging bosses to take down.

That said, if you decide to give Elden Ring a shot, and get stuck on Radahn or Messmer, be sure to look for summon signs and your friends from Game Whisper.
