Intro

Lidia Sobieska was a late DLC in Tekken 7 but that didn’t stop her from becoming a fan favorite in a really short timespan. Consequentially, fans were disappointed she wasn’t a part of the main roster in Tekken 8 but at least the wait for her wasn’t as long this time since she is the second DLC character in total.

As you can see, Lidia’s appearance is slightly different in Tekken 8 as she is wearing the uwagi instead of having it tied around her waist.

Naturally, the entire outfit is in Poland’s colors, representing Lidia’s country and people. While her approach to politics is highly unorthodox, maybe it would be a good idea to have politicians fight each other to resolve national disputes rather than sending younger generations to war.

Additionally, the trailer features a brief showdown with a fellow karateka, Jin. They show mutual respect and we have no doubt players will pit Shotokan against Kyokushin in countless matches to come.

Release date speculation

Unfortunately, there is no official release date yet.

Bandai Namco’s Year 1 roadmap for DLC simply states one fighter would release during every of the year’s seasons. For Spring 2024, it was Eddie Gordo, on April 1.

Lidia is scheduled for Summer 2024 and since it doesn’t start until June 20, we are likely looking at a July release for her. It could technically be July 1 so it’s exactly 3 months after Eddie but releasing fighters at the start of a month could make future DLC dates predictable.
