Intro

Capes is an upcoming turn-based tactics game with a premise where superheroes lost the battle and the villains have been in control for two decades. Since it’s heavily inspired by XCOM, this definitely sounds a lot like XCOM 2 itself, although with unique characters rather than randomly generated ones that acquire a class.

They were show off in Meet the Team videos and now the final one has surfaced.

About Ignis

Ignis’ trailer begins with the single most predictable one-liner you can slap on a fire-based character but thankfully, the rest of the trailer is not so easily anticipated.

Other than being an influencer, Ignis sports fire-based powers that are not exclusively aimed at destroying everything in sight. In fact, the trailer makes her look more like a support character that can prove to be unusually mobile.

Other than buffing allies and being buffed in turn, she excels at controlling areas by setting them on fire, which should prove highly useful for setting up devastating AoE attacks. Should the AoE attack come from an ally, it could potentially be boosted by fire damage as Ignis infuses teammates with additional damage.

Capes is set to release on May 29, 2024.
