Intro

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr released almost 7 years ago. At the time, it looked like a massive stretch of imagination to predict the game would still have active development in 2024 but a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears at Neocore resulted in a massive update that turned it all around.

As the game’s cycle is nearing its end, the devs showcased good news for everyone at Warhammer Skulls 2024.

Offline mode

Live service games have a deserved stain on their reputation since companies can basically take one’s access away at any time. If it sounds ludicrous, just look at the recent The Crew situation.

Thankfully, Neocore Games went the opposite way and provided an offline mode that simply allows players to keep enjoying the game once the online features are removed. It is now live and you can already play it without an internet connection.

New class – Hierophant

On top of that, Neocore surprised the fans by announcing a new class, the Hierophant.

Judging from the trailer, the Hierophant will be more about buffing the allies rather than participating in combat himself. With the aforementioned offline mode and potential lack of co-op in the future, this could create issues with the class mechanics but the devs covered it by introducing Retinue Combat, which will allow solo players to purge the heretics on their own.
