Intro

Marvel Rivals is kicking off Closed Alpha Test soon and it’s still not too late to sign up for it. On top of that, there is a tournament with prizes during the test along with extra invites.

Closed Alpha date and duration

Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha Test will run from May 10 to 20, 2024.

Modes in Closed Alpha

It is unclear whether the actual game modes will be named something different but as it stands right now, the word “modes” will be used for different queues in Marvel Rivals.

There will be a total of 5 game modes during the test:

• Tutorial – Learn the basics and train your aim
• Quick Match – Essentially the same as in Overwatch 2
• Pocket Universe – Deathmatch
• Custom matches
• Competitive – Kick it up a notch from Quick Matches and participate in leaderboards

6v6 tournament with prizes

Teams will be able to sign up for the Dawn of Legends tournament from May 10 to 13, 2024.

Open qualifiers will start on May 14 and conclude on May 16.

Knockout Stage is scheduled for May 17 with the grand finale on May 19.

This tournament will have $22,500 prize pool but it is unclear how it will be distributed.

Top 32 players will earn the Dawn of Legends title which will presumably carry into the full game. Dawn of Legends will be streamed on Twitch so you can see how it goes even if you are not participating.

Extra invites

Players who complete certain objectives, visible in the in-game event page, can invite additional friends to join. Content creators that entered the associated program will get the same perks.
