Intro

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale turned out to be a pretty great turn-based RPG that immersed the players into the Arthurian legend and the developers seem to be attempting to capitalize on the new IP’s relative fame. However, the new game appears to be almost entirely detached from King Arthur and unless it’s a setup for a future clash, it won’t make much sense lore-wise.

That said, the game now has a release date and a brand new trailer.

King Arthur: Legion IX release date and trailer

King Arthur: Legion IX is set to release on May 9, 2024.

Additionally, the release date trailer showcases a little bit of gameplay and progression. The latter part is particularly interesting since new heroes means new builds and possibly entirely new mechanics.

Lore

So, since the game with “King Arthur” in the name features neither Arthur nor Mordred, what is it all about? Demonic Romans, of course.

Players will gain control of the demonic version of Legion IX, with Gaius Julius Mento at its head. He has been seeking a way out of Tartarus and stumbled upon Avalon by accident. Now, the demonic legion is attempting to set up an eternal Roman Empire in the realm of Lady of the Lake herself.
