After more than a month of speculations based on small Steam changes by FromSoftware, we finally have all the details about Elden Ring’s first DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, courtesy of the trailer revealed on February 21, 2024.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree release date is set for June 21, 2024.

The info was announced alongside the gameplay trailer which was abruptly announced just 16 hours before premiere. Then again, this is the way previous FromSoftware titles had their announcements so it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be purchasable on its own for €40 which is the option the vast majority of players will go for. Hardcore fans will get something for themselves with GOTY and Collector’s Editions coming as well:

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree GOTY Edition – €80 with physical copies available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Collector’s Edition – €260 with physical copies available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Messmer the Impaler is confirmed to be a boss fight which may not sound like a big deal to the casual onlooker but it is enough for fans to start theorycrafting about this character’s connection to Miquella.
