Intro
Solasta: Crown of the Magister is one of the best DnD 5e (technically 5.1) experiences in the video game market currently and while it got a lot of love, it certainly deserves more.
With that in mind, Tactical Adventures piqued our curiosity the moment they teased a new project along with a celebratory giveaway and discounts for the existing game.
New Project teaser
On January 23, 2024, Tactical Adventures teased the next chapter in the studio’s future but unfortunately, they didn’t reveal much which suggests the project is in the early stages of development.
The devs shared a single image of a beach with a “Towards New Horizons” as a subtitle. This image undoubtedly holds a few clues about the game but without more context and information, it is unlikely anyone will be able to decipher it for now.

On the other hand, anyone can participate in a giveaway that was announced at the same time.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister giveaway and discount
To participate in the giveaway, go to the New Horizons teaser post on Twitter, like, retweet and make sure your settings aren’t set to block direct messages. In case you win a copy of Solasta, the devs will want to notify you there and likely send you a key in the same place.
If you don’t get lucky with the giveaway, there is the 70% discount on Steam for the base game and all DLCs with the exception of the Supporter Pack.
DLC suggestions
If you are able to buy only the base game and less than all the DLCs but are wondering what you might want to buy for best value for money, here are our suggestions.
There are 2 campaign DLCs, Palace of Ice and Lost Valley. If you have to choose between the two, go for Palace of Ice – it is easily the best DLC of all of them. Lost Valley is suffering from Mixed reviews on Steam because it had gamebreaking issues at launch as well as performance drops. It has become a much better experience since then.
Primal Calling and Inner Strength are mostly there if you want additional classes. Inner Strength brings Warlock, Bard and Monk classes into the mix, each with 3 subclasses. Primal Calling only has Druid and Barbarian, once again with 3 subclasses each. The decision between these DLCs is completely yours – if there is a class you want to play, go for it.
