Bandai Namco posted the opening cutscene trailer on Sunday, January 14, 2024, displaying combat between the characters already shown to be on the roster.
As soon as that part of the video wrapped up, a few behind-the-scenes shots were pulled up, showing how the capoeira moves were motion capped for the fan-favourite character, Eddie Gordo.
Eddie is not usually a character that deals in the middles or moderate feelings – you either love him or hate every pixel of the smooth Brazilian.
This is mostly because of his moveset that was designed to flow effortlessly, which invoked the ire of many Tekken 3 players who found themselves on the receiving end of the design.
Simply weaving combos is not the enraging part – after all, every Tekken character can juggle their opponents but the ease with which Eddie players could do it is what branded Gordo forevermore. Often seen as the faceroll character, he is nonetheless a welcome addition whenever he’s seen in Tekken.
