All hail the Queen.

Bandai Namco has graced the adoring masses with a trailer showcasing the final launch fighter headed to the stage that is Tekken 8. The announcement answered some questions while raising others, but we can rest easy knowing that Reina obviously has a lot to say and her story is yet to be told.

Reina – announcement trailer and gameplay breakdown

Reina, a student at the Mishima Polytechnical School, has been announced as the final member of Tekken 8’s launch roster with a short, two-and-a-half-minute YouTube video that also treats us to some insights into her gameplay.

Tekken 8’s final launch fighter is veiled in mystery, but we can glean some information from the trailer. Reina sports a fittingly-colored purple coat, which flows with the light motive of the royal character.

She is also strangely interested in Jin, calling him “senpai” in the trailer, so we’ll have to wait and see what exactly is going on there.

From the trailer, we also see that Reina comes with a mix of ridiculously fast light attacks, coupled with some devastating heavy moves.

There are a bunch of unknowns when it comes to Reina. However, one thing is for sure: everyone is about to learn their place.
