Wordle first saw the light of day in 2018, but it would be a couple of years before the people started looking for an engaging routine that wasn’t too much of a time commitment. Thus, Wordle went viral in late 2021.

LoLdle, on the other hand, was created in 2022, when its older brother, Wordle, inspired a dedicated League of Legends player.

Ever since, LoLdle has become a daily destination for the fans of the game, who make the regular pilgrimage to test their skills and knowledge of League of Legends champions. They can also monitor their progress represented by the numbers going up while the flames around them change color.

Much like Wordle, LoLdle is on a 24-hour reset cycle so we get to test our mastery over the League of Legends roster every day, and, sometimes, see the old favorites we’ve forgotten about.

How to play LoLdle

Guess today’s champion from Riot’s game League of Legends. It changes every 24 hours.

Classic mode

In classic mode, type in the name of a champion and it will reveal its properties.
The color of the tiles will change to show how close your guess was to the champion you’re looking for.

• Green indicates the property is an exact match.
• Orange means a partial match.
• Red implies there is no overlap between your guess and the property.
• Arrows suggest if the answer property is above or below your guess.

Properties

Gender
Possible values: Male, Female, or Other
Position(s)
Most played positions in the game, i.e. if its play rate for a position is above 20% in the past 6 months, for all ranks.
Possible values: Top, Jungle, Middle, Bottom, Support
Species
There may be multiple species for one champion.
Possible values: Human, Yordle, etc…
Resource
The resource used by the champion in the game.
Possible values: Mana, Energy, Manaless, etc…
Range type
How the champion hits other champions with a right-click in the game. They are considered Ranged if they can buy Runaan’s Hurricane.
Possible values: Melee, Ranged, Melee Ranged
Region(s)
Where the champion comes from or where the reside. If it’s unknown, it will be marked Runeterra (the world).
Possible values: Demacia, Ionia, etc…
Release year
When the champion was released to be played.
Possible values: Any year between 2009 and today
Clues
To help you find the champion, you get to unlock clues after several guesses.

The quote clue gives a random quote spoken by the champion in the game.
Splash gives a cropped section of one of the splash arts (skin’s images) of the champion.
Ability gives the icon of one of the spells of a champion, without its name.
