Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon story and setting

It all kicks off when “Coral”, a new energy source gets discovered on the surface of a remote planet called “Rubicon 3”.

As it goes, the energy source proves to be a bit more than anyone could realistically hope to handle and promptly causes a cataclysm that leaves the entire system in flames.

-Time jump-

It’s been 50 years since things got too hot to handle and “Coral” has once again been found on the surface. Now called the Burning Star System gets paid a couple more visits from people who haven’t learned their recent history, which includes the extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups.

The two factions engage in a conflict for control over the resource and the player character, an independent mercenary, finds themselves in the middle of the skirmish.

Players will be able to step foot into highly mobile and deeply customizable mech suits that will carry them through fast-paced battles against some beautifully-rendered pieces of nightmarish machinery.

Expect the mech battles to take place on both land and in the air and keep an eye out for pieces of the environment that look like they’d offer reasonable protective cover from the oncoming attacks.
