After announcing that the studio responsible for the original Forspoken, Luminous Productions, will be absorbed into the whole that is Square Enix, it was also made known that the DLC planned to release during the Summer, “In Tanta We Trust” will drop sooner than expected.

Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust DLC will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC on 26 May.

Now, Square Enix probably knows something they are keeping secret from the general public, as they have authorized Taito (Space Invaders) to go ahead and revamp the IP for the future.

Forspoken 2 is still, however, in the very early stages of development, but we hope that the development team will put together a more cohesive story, a more lived-in world, and generally pay attention to the things that brought down its predecessor.

If the writers are taking notes and suggestions, might we put forward our own idea, free of charge: a Forspoken game starring Cuff.

We know that this is one of the characters the players had the most trouble accepting as he was annoying and condescending, but if the team manages to write these flaws of character into a compelling backstory, we really think it would reflect positively on the original game as well.

This kind of synergy might even save the entire IP and we may be looking at another franchise of Final Fantasy proportions.

As for the Luminous Productions team, they will be joining the larger collective at Square Enix but also continue to support Forspoken with the planned patches, as well as the upcoming DLCs.
