This week at Bungie is a treasure trove of information, doled out, as the name suggests, on a weekly basis to the devoted Guardians who like to stay on top of all the most recent developments coming to their favorite game.
Destiny 2’s Weekly Challenge mode
Raid Weekly Challenges arrive in style.
Raid Master difficulty mode will offer up a new way for players to test their mettle against everything Destiny 2 can throw at them. Those who live to tell the tale will do so sporting some improved gear, including armor with a weekly rotating stat focus.
All the extra loot will be concealed behind an optional hidden objective. The Weekly Challenges will grant each player some additional goodies, namely an Adept raid weapon, in exchange for the completion of the hidden task.
Those playing on Normal difficulty will get doubled rewards from the secret objectives.
Players who get their hands on the former reward will be able to enhance the Master Root of Nightmares Adept weapons, giving them an opportunity to upgrade the traits that were already rolled on the dropped weapon. However, this option will not be available until the mid-Season patch gets deployed.
Don’t throw out any raid Adept weapons you acquire before the mid-Season patch as they will retroactively be eligible for enhancements.
Root of Nightmares issues
Everything has to be in ship shape before Master difficulty takes the stage and so, Destiny 2 devs have taken some time to talk about Nezarec’s questionable behavior and the unintentionally deadly jump pads.

Nezarec
Nezarec will sometimes get moody when players choose to stand in a Well of Radiance and won’t always respond to them. This unacceptable behavior will be rectified in a future patch and all players should get an apology letter from the Final God of Pain, presumably mere seconds before they learn how he got the title in the first place.
Root of Nightmares jump pads
Jump pads have been added to Root of Nightmares to help traverse its vast spaces. The use of Strand is also widely accepted if jump pads just aren’t your thing.
However, players who boasted higher framerates (80+FPS) have been known to be “accidentally” killed or almost killed while using the pads. Destiny 2 devs are looking into the situation and will hopefully fix it in an upcoming release.
Destiny 2 devs’ tribute to Lance Reddick
The most recent TWAB also brought a touching “In Memoriam” section dedicated to the recent passing of Lance Reddick, the voice actor behind the iconic Commander Zavala. Destiny 2 players will still be able to enjoy Reddick’s performance in the game: both in Destiny 2 as it is today and as part of the upcoming content headed to the live servers in the future.
