Overwatch Credits return!

Overwatch 2’s Season 3 will mark the homecoming of Overwatch Credits, known in the first two seasons as Legacy Credits, and previously as “Credits”.

The coins were unearnable in Overwatch 2 and only the players who’ve purchased the original game may have had some left over in their accounts. Otherwise, there was no way for the new players to earn the silver coins.

Now, when Overwatch 2’s Season 3 starts on 7 February 2023, all players will be able to earn up to 1500 credits. Those paying for the Battle Pass will be given a chance to earn an additional 500 credits.

Note that the credit rewards will be spread throughout Season 3 Battle Pass.

Your Overwatch Credit balance will be displayed at the top right corner.

There are also some additional changes coming to the Hero Gallery with Season 3.

Expect “nearly” all epic and legendary skins that were released prior to the launch of Overwatch 2 to always be available at the hero gallery. You’ll be able to purchase the skins using Overwatch Coins or Credits.

Furthermore, the new players will be given the chance to purchase the newly available skins at a discounted price of 1500 coins – so one skin per season.

While this is a step in the right direction, it’s still a far cry from the days of the original Overwatch when we could get 1500 credits from a single loot box.
