Intro

Stalker 2 will feature a densely packed Zone and some of its inhabitants will be characters seen in the previous games. While this is not strange for Stalker games, it is always nice to see familiar faces.

Hermann returns

Major Degtyarev’s interactions with Hermann may not have been all that pleasant, owing to the scientist’s behavior, but the scientist didn’t skimp on rewards for the soldier / stalker’s invaluable aid.

It seems Hermann’s character will be largely the same in Stalker 2 as it was in Call of Pripyat as he is cynical, ambitious and cowardly. One difference between the two games is his status, as Hermann was promoted between the installments, now carrying the title of a senior researcher.

Hermann’s similarities to his previous iteration are somewhat contrasting to another familiar face’s versions.

ICYMI, Scar is here too

Scar, the protagonist of Clear Sky, returns as well. He had his own trailer during Gamescom 2024, surprising some fans by how talkative he is. Back in Clear Sky days, he was concise, possibly due to budget restraints GSC had to deal with while in Stalker 2 he is a rather chatty fellow.

In any case, fans were happy to see an official confirmation that he survived a particularly nasty emission that killed countless nearby stalkers, army members and nearly wiped two protagonists out.
